UX Metrics: why are we not measuring aesthetics?

The answer to the headline question is in your post.

“ There’s compelling evidence showing that the aesthetics of a product influence perception of user experience. So why not measure it?”

If this is true, then the aesthetics of the site has gone into the person’s perception of the experience.

I could equally suggest that long boring text has an influence on the user experience, so why not measure the character count of pages?
