Hi Lisa. Thanks for the comment. It’s definitely worth sticking with a good recruiter once you’ve found one. Like most things when running research I use my judgement when I think the person is a ringer. If it’s obvious, like it was with ‘Colin’ I wrapped the session up quickly, gave him his money and sent him on his way. My time was much better spent doing something else than going through the charade. But it’s often difficult to make a call at the time, so if I suspect they’re a ringer I’ll search their name on the internet and see what I can find out about them. You will usually get sufficient information to make a decision whether you can safely ignore the findings from that session. I then let the recruiter know. A good one won’t charge for a recruit you’re even slightly unhappy with and will follow up with your concerns to see how it happened.
